2021-10-04 Why do self improvement Youtubers (Ali Abdaal, Better Ideas…) go so downhill?

I’m really curious if it was me alone feeling this way.
Ali Abdaal turns his Youtube into a money machine with clickbaity titles and generic content. Skimming books, listening podcasts at 3.5x and telling his assistant that he loves the four-hour work week concept because all the meaningless miscellaneous work will be covered by his subordinates, aka that assistant. Really, Ali?
Joey from Better Ideas just pushes through content that appears wildly superficial to me. His Youtube channel looks like a collection of his face from various angles. Video production is filled heavily with B-rolls and really basic life advices that are so off!
And they are not the only ones that I’m thoroughly disappointed. Thomas Frank and Matt D’Avella too.
I have followed them and watched all of their videos for at least 4-5 years. Now I’m just disappointed. Self improvement advice can only go so far I presume. Am I too harsh or do you feel the same?

Content is dry someday.
And in the end, they did it for money. Not for helping you or me out.
Ali was great, nowadays I think it is pretty sad what he does.
'what I earn as a youtuber''why I sped 30k on apple products '
It's just a flex after a flex.
I don't like it as much anymore. But well, I would love to do the same and become independent, it's a great business model,
